We didn't actually get to experience Milgard's window replacement warranty because it turned out not all the windows in our home are Milgard. The service person showed us how to differentiate Milgard and non-Milgard. We asked about replacing our non-Milgard with Milgards but he advised us that would be too complex/expensive and advised us on how to go about getting the non-Milgard windows replaced. He was so helpful that my husband, who is not easily impressed, wanted to change all the windows on our South Carolina home to Milgard. Sadly, Milgard isn't available in that State. We have two Milgard Ultra awning windows installed years ago, that were not functioning; the larger one could not be opened without it nearly falling out, and the smaller on was OK if we pushed in the rod to keep it up. We called Milgard after being told by a local window repair provider, that our windows were guaranteed for life. We had an appointment set up for early August but received a call that our service date was moved up to July 18th. Received not only a phone call to confirm but also an email with the picture of the service person! He was on time, and fixed both windows in hardly any time. Courteous and professional. The Milgard service tech arrived on time and with the proper window ready to install. We assumed the visit would be an assessment call, but new window was installed in 20 minutes. We had a window that would not come out of the sash to clean. The representative on the phone was very thorough with her questions on what was wrong, what had we tried. Ordered a part for us to fix it ourselves. Then a tech called us and said he would come fix it for us. He was very good about calling us to let us know when he could come.
