It took Milgard Windows 3 attempts to get screens that properly fit the my Style Line sliding windows that I ordered otherwise I would have given my experience 5 stars on everything. I bought a very large Milgard double sliding window. My installer said that it could not be installed in the opening and I started to freak out. I called 1stwindows which who I bought it from online. John referred me up to the owner who said take me pictures interior and exterior. He called be back the following day and said the issue my installer has is that he probably doesnt know how to handle vinyl siding. Turns our 1stWindows sell to Milgard window installers all over the western United States and he was able to give me the number of a guy who could help me. Less then 10 miles from my house. Doug the owner already had sent him the pictures, went over the instillation and told him to bring his aluminum brake with him. Everything went perfect and William bent a custom pieces that the existing vinyl siding slid into. Turns out the owner is Certified Master Craftsman in the window industry. Had a Milgard Thermally Improved Aluminum sliding window pane replaced and the tech had to come twice due to shutters. Did a great job and was really helpful. The only issue I have with milguard is the time to schedule repairs. It took a couple weeks but from what I hear thats pretty standard in the industry. Great product and support though. Window replacement (Milgard Aluminum Window) under warranty was preformed with care. Nothing damaged. Window looks good as new. Technician was polite and very professional. we have owned and occupied this home since 1996over that time span we have had numerous windows replaced by milgard windows. our latest glass repair was on a milgard trinsic door. this home has a south east exposer and is subject to constant exposure to the sun and weather. the only problem we have had was with low -e failure. over time milgard has replaced the windows promply. we chose milgard because of the lifetime warranty and the quality of the product. no one else would do that. the low e problem seems to have been resolved with the newer windows. My milgard double hung windows are 27 years old and are gradually the glass is failing. Milgard takes several contacts and months from the initial request to actually install the new window. Still, I am very grateful the new windows are free. Whats even more impressive is that 1stwinodws is still in business and they help each time with the service request. Thank you.
