Milgard Tusany vs Trinsic Windows and I chose Tuscany

I called 1stWindows and asked them the difference between Milgard Tuscany vs Milgard Trinsic. They broke it down pretty simple. Tuscany has more vinyl surrounding the glass so it has less glass area, both have even site lines, both come with grids if you want them, and the Trinsic can be upgraded to accidental glass breakage. They explained do you want a more modern look then its Trinsic and if you want a more classic/traditional look then it Tuscany. The frame depth for Tuscany is 3 1/4 which is great when replacing old wood windows and the Trinsic is 2 7/8 which is great when doing retrofit windows and trying to save the window blinds. I went with the Milgard Tuscany because I am replacing old wood windows and the distance from the screen stop to the sill is 3 1/4 inches and the Tuscany looks like a wood window so my house keeps that old cottage look. Why we picked Milgard Windows for our major remodel

This is our first big remodel and we are a young family, so we really took our time choosing windows. Owner asked us how long we planned to keep the house which was the first time anyone asked us that question. Basically we never plan to move again. He explained why sometimes any dual paned windows may have rare spontaneous breakage not due to anything hitting the glass. We bought them from 1stWindows online and got a better deal than local big box stores and lumber yards. We felt comfortable dealing with them and they really are nice guys in the office and always pick up the phone and answered our calls or emails. Purchased Windows from 1stWindows in Mammoth, CA

I purchased a home in Mammoth that was a total fixer upper. I needed to save money because we were way over budget. I bought my window package from these guys. My order was mostly sliding and a couple of patio doors. I chose the Tuscany series . Process was easy and went over passive solar so i get a little heat through my windows in the winter but block much of the heat in the summer. I bought all Milgard Tuscany Windows for our new home. We are remodeling our house and are in our mid 60s so warranty and maintenance are a big concern as we want to travel not worry about maintenance. We want to get at least 25 years out of the products we buy so with the lifetime guarantee it was a no brainier to buy Milgard. We got a great deal buying Milgard at 1stwindows and their online price cant be beat. Our contractor has started using them because we found better pricing than he could get at the lumber yard. Very experienced service technician.

Getting someone to answer the phone to request service was frustrating to say the least. I gave up twice due to long hold times. The 3rd time I stuck it out. The "we'll call you back and you won't loose your place in line" was a joke, they called back soon after I hung up and I was put on hold for longer than the original wait time given! However, once they answered, the service was set up for only a few days off and the Service tech showed up early in the window given and made the repair quickly. He also asked if we had any other issues then checked and lubricated two sticky windows.

Great products, great warranty service

Given a choice, I have learned over many years, I can depend on quality design, fabrication, and warranty service from Milgard!
Had a problem with two slider windows seeming to jam in the track. Milgard sent a tech out to our home (punctual) and he determined that the issue with one window was a plastic plug covering a screw hole installed by an independent contractor was interfering with proper slide function. According to the tech, the second window was binding because of an outdated side rail design which he replaced. In both cases, adjustments were happily made for free. Another happy customer!
