I usually don't write reviews but this was a definite upgrade to my home. I had 1989 dual Payne windows and they had aluminum framing. I was alway liking my neighbor home that were built after mine that had these vynil windows. I liked the way they slid and the e glass and tinting to them were shocking. I still can believe how good they look and what a difference my eyes feel looking outside. Feel so much more relaxed and calm. The glare from these old clear windows kill the eyes. Then the shocker. Absolutely no heat transfer from outside to inside. My old windows absolutely sucked. I would open the drapes and feel heat pouring out of the old windows. With these Milgard Tuscany windows that I bought from 1stWindows I'm not feeling any heat transfer at all. Unreal!!!! Thanks for such a fine product look forward in finishing my home soon. Surprised at how easy and fast it was to change the Tuscany glass. Too bad he didn't have all the materials needed months ago, but that was not his issue, you guys simply didn't give him the correct glass panels. I can now see the park trees again. We purchased Milgard Trinsic Windows and Doors. We had a seal failure on or fixed arched top window and they replaced it no questions asked. This door is used more than any other door in our house and the original hinges could not stand up to the high use.The service people are fantastic and replaced the hinges with ones less susceptible to repeated use. I wish they had initially used the other hinges because I have had to adjust the doors repeatedly the last 3 years. Hopefully this will solve the problem. The other difficult issue is that this is the only key lock door in our house and I had to wait 6 weeks for an appointment. I spent hours repeatedly adjusting the door so we could lock it and sometimes we just had to leave it open. Seal Beach, CA (Orange County)Milgard Tusany vs Trinsic Windows and I chose Tuscany
I called 1stWindows and asked them the difference between Milgard Tuscany vs Milgard Trinsic. They broke it down pretty simple. Tuscany has more vinyl surrounding the glass so it has less glass area, both have even site lines, both come with grids if you want them, and the Trinsic can be upgraded to accidental glass breakage. They explained do you want a more modern look then its Trinsic and if you want a more classic/traditional look then it Tuscany. The frame depth for Tuscany is 3 1/4 which is great when replacing old wood windows and the Trinsic is 2 7/8 which is great when doing retrofit windows and trying to save the window blinds. I went with the Milgard Tuscany because I am replacing old wood windows and the distance from the screen stop to the sill is 3 1/4 inches and the Tuscany looks like a wood window so my house keeps that old cottage look. I bought my Milgard Windows the old fashioned way and went to their store. They still gave me the online price. Orange, CA (Orange County)Milgard Gave Perfect Service
