FLAT GLASS SKYLIGHTS

Bristolite's Flat Glass Skylight (Model GAL) was designed to be an affordable glass skylight that provides years of satisfaction and high performance. It is a low profile flat glass skylight which incorporates many of the same outstanding features as our Alumi-lite® model.

The superior weepage system forces condensation to flow to the outside of the structure. Our gasket network is designed with an additional gasket so that the glass never comes into contact with the aluminum. We have venting models available with insect screens and operating poles as standard features. For conditions where the skylight is too high for a manual pole, we have an electrical option which operates with a wall switch.

You no longer have to worry about UV fading with our GAL model because we eliminate 99% of the damaging UV rays and we do it as a standard feature. For bathrooms and kitchens, where you need the best light, we can provide White Glass which diffuses the sunlight to a warm glow.

Maximum energy saving is available with our Low-E option. Low-E glass is a high performance, energy-efficient glass made with an invisible coating that blocks heat flow. Energy advantage Low-E glass helps separate heat from cold. In winter heat stays inside where you need it to keep you warm, and in summer the glass helps keep heat outside giving you year-round comfort.

GLASS

Bristolite procures superior quality glass products form the major Architectural Glass Manufacturers nationwide. Because of the vast assortment and combinations of high performance coatings, colors and thickness it is not possible to list them all here. The following indicate a sampling of the most commonly used make-ups for overhead glazing and their associated properties. We would recommend consulting with your design professional in selecting the appropriate glass type for your application and contact Bristolite's Engineering Department for further information.

Notes: (1) Clear Glass is transparent flat glass that meets the requirements and tolerances of federal specification DD-G-451 d.
(2) All of the below glasses can be heat-strengthened or tempered to meet standard Z97.1 and the Consumer Product Safety Commission Standard 16 CFR 1201 C1 and C2.
(3) The appearance and aesthetic effect or reflective glass is greatly affected by the location of the coated side. "(2)" means the coating of the exterior lite is on the inside surface (2).
(4) Based on laminated glass as the interior lite of the insulating Unit. Cut off at 380 nanometers (nm) wavelength.
